Serbia beat Lithuania in World Cup qualifier

Belgrade, October 11, 2008 - Serbia defeated Lithuania 3-0 (2-0) in a World Cup qualifying match.



Branislav Ivanovic, the Chelsea defender, headed in corner kick from Nenad Milijas in the sixth minute, and Milos Krasic made it 2-0 in the 34th with a powerful half-volley from 10 metres.

Nikola Zigic scored the last goal with a header after a perfect cross from substitute Bosko Jankovic in the 81st minute.

Zigic failed to convert a penalty in the 75th when Arunas Klimavicius stopped the ball with his hand on the goal line, for which he was red carded.

Serbian national team, which next plays Austria in Vienna on Wednesday, has six points from three matches in Group 7.
